Yoga for Hockey Players

Power yoga is a great way for hockey players to improve flexibility, build core strength, optimize structural efficiency, improve balance and strengthen physical and mental resilience.  Many NHL players and teams incorporate yoga into their off-ice workouts and are taking advantage of its many benefits.

Quest Hockey has partnered with South Hills Power Yoga to create a three-day introductory power yoga workshop specifically designed for developing hockey players.  The purpose of this program is to establish the core fundamentals of yoga (mindset, breathing, beginner and intermediate poses) in hopes of working towards a consistent and rewarding practice.

Darcy Lyle, who has been teaching yoga for 13 years (she’s awesome), will be teaching each 90-minute session. Darcy’s teaching style is athletic and strong, but also focuses on time, precision, flexibility, meditation, and slow cleansing breaths.  Having taken Darcy’s classes for over two years now, we’re confident our players will really enjoy and benefit from her instruction.
