Now that summer has passed and the hockey sesason is upon us, Quest Hockey’s focus has shifted to working with teams during their ice time to run team skill development practices.  Our present goal is to work exclusively with teams/organizations to be their official skill development instructors.

Hockey players’ skills – skating, shooting, passing, and stick handling – are developed during practice, not games!  Each player’s skills must regularly be worked on, assessed and built upon to improve.  By isolating fundamental skills and building a progressive growth model, skills are developed over time.

Team skill development practices are focused on improving the fundamental hockey skills of your team’s players.  Consistent and regular skill development team practices allow us to monitor the development of each player and the team as a whole.

We recently had the opportunity to work with the Morgantown Blades PeeWee hockey team for an on-ice team skill development practice.  The hour long skate held this past Saturday morning at the Morgantown Ice Arena and Sports Complex featured power skating instruction, stick handling drills, passing exercises and small area games.

One satisfied parent emailed us following the skate, “the kids had a great time. We will be seeing you for your future clinics in Morgantown. You do a great job!”   We also had a great time and look forward to future sessions in Morgantown!
