It’s a hockey weekend in Pittsburgh!  Don’t miss Tier 1 Mid-Am District playdown action (12U, 14U, 16U and 18U) this weekend at Ice Castle Arena in Castle Shannon, PA.

The following Mid-Am teams will be battling for the right to compete at Nationals:

• Lake Erie Warriors

• Pittsburgh Hornets
• Pittsburgh Jr. Pens
• Pittsburgh Predators
• Pittsburgh Viper Stars

The first game of the weekend, this Thursday (3/8/12) at 5:30 PM, features an 18U clash between the Pittsburgh Viper Stars and the host Pittsburgh Predators. The two teams met twice this season in mid-November in which the Viper Stars topped the Preds 6-2  and 5-2.

The 16U action also starts this Thursday (3/8/12) with the host Pittsburgh Predators taking on the Pittsburgh Viper Stars (American) at 7:30 PM. The Predators hold the edge in their season series, winning 4 of the 6 match-ups. Aside from their most recent victory (8-4), all of the games have been determined by a 1 goal margin.
